About our Brewery

Mooresville, NC  Jolly Roger Brewery is a premium batch craft brewery located near beautiful Lake Norman in Mooresville North Carolina.  The brews are known for deep flavors and intense aromatics.  The beers are made with our own blends of American hops that emphasize aromas allowing a limit to the bitterness found in most beers. 

  Jolly Roger Brewery was founded by veteran Tony Philipp in 2017.  Tony was raised in Germany with a Bavarian beer making heritage.  He moved to the States and joined the military.  After leaving the military, Tony began his career brewing and now combines it  with the most innovative brewing technology and equipment.  We have been recognized by winning the North Carolina Brewers Cup which acknowledges the finest tasting and aromatic beers in the State.   You will enjoy your first taste and admire the aromas and feel of a  smooth and delicious beer that appeases your inner Pirate.

Our themed beers include Ale names borrowed from Pirate lore like IPAtch, Barbarossa Red, our award winning Walk the Plank Wheat, Pirates Gold, and bLIMEy.

Our beer is available in the Lake Norman region in fine Taverns and Alehouses.   We serve flights, growlers and pints inside the brewery during our taproom hours.    If you do visit us at the working brewery, don’t be surprised when the person serving you is one of the brewers.  We love to talk about our beers and what creations we are working on. 

Call ahead or walk-in to our working brewery to taste our beers.  You may have a pirate sighting or hear some lore which will bring on your thirst to raise a pint.
